The Lancer 1600 GSR dominates the Australian Southern Cross Rally with a sweep of the first 3 places, obtaining Mitsubishi’s 4th rally title overall.

In response to growing energy conservation needs, Mitsubishi launches the Mirage, with a fuel efficient MCA-JET engine that achieved 32km/l in the 60km/h dynamometer-driving test.
